LasViewer is on Android, and iOS 1.2 gives everyone a free week

The Android version is out of beta and available as a direct download. On every platform the first 7 days are now full access with no subscription and no card.

LasViewer on iPhone and on an Android phone: an elevation profile across a 33-million-point survey, and a cell tower height measured in the point cloud

LasViewer now works on both mobile platforms: iPhone and iPad from the App Store, Android phones and tablets as a direct download from this site.

Android is released

The Android version has left beta. It runs on the same C++ core as the iOS app, so it opens the same LAS, LAZ and PLY files and gives the same measurements: distance, ΔXYZ, height, area and cut/fill volume, plus sections and profiles. Tablets get a side tool panel built for the large screen.

You do not need a Google Play account: download the .apk from the Downloads page. The subscription is billed by Paddle, plans are on the Pricing page.

A free week before any payment

In the first iOS release the very first tap hit the paywall, and Apple's free week only started after you subscribed. That meant deciding to pay before seeing the app on your own data.

Now every platform starts the same way: 7 days of full access from the first launch, with no subscription, no card and nothing to cancel. Open your own surveys, run your own measurements, and decide after that.

What else is new in iOS 1.2

  • On phones, one finger pans the cloud and two fingers rotate it.
  • The profile tool shows the section at true 1:1 scale.
  • Sections follow the exact height range of the cloud.
  • Clouds with 8-bit colour no longer open dark.
  • Large tiled GeoTIFF orthophotos open on the device.

All processing stays on the device, as before: no project upload and no product telemetry.
